How to prepare a print file for your photo wall
The print file for a photo wall must be at the actual size of the wall, in PDF, EPS or TIFF format, with images of at least 150 dpi and logos and text at least 5 cm from the edge.
Key requirements
- Size: exactly the size of the wall (e.g. 300 × 250 cm), with no margins or bleed.
- Format: PDF, EPS or TIFF.
- Resolution: images at least 150 dpi at actual size.
- Safe zone: logos and text at least 5 cm in from the edge.
- Colours and fonts: colours in CMYK, fonts converted to outlines (curves).
- Double-sided wall: one file for both sides, or a separate file for each side.
Media walls with logos
For press conferences, arrange the logos in a staggered (chequerboard) pattern so that at least one logo is in shot wherever the speaker stands. The most important area is at face height.
Multimedia TV and Led Light
On a wall with a TV, leave space for the screen – 1,115 × 640 mm, plus a 5 cm clear margin around it. On the backlit wall, light and saturated colours glow best, while large dark areas block the light.
Common mistakes
- Images or logos downloaded from the internet – blown up to 3 metres, they look pixelated. Use logos in vector format.
- Text right up to the edge – it disappears into the frame’s channel.
- A file with different proportions – check that it matches the size you have chosen.
How to send your file
You upload it when you order or later. For a double-sided wall, the “Same design on both sides” box is ticked – untick it if the front and back are different, and upload two files. If you send a download link, put all the files in one link. If your own designer is preparing the artwork, we send them a link so they can upload the file themselves. We check every file before printing and get in touch if there’s a problem.
